The University of Eastern Finland has nine official publication series. Each faculty has its own dissertation series and report series. In addition, the university has an interdisciplinary General series.
As a rule, doctoral dissertations at the University of Eastern Finland are published in the faculties’ dissertation series. The report series, in turn, provide a publication channel for items such as final project reports and other monographs. The university’s series are published electronically in the eRepo repository. This ensures long-term preservation and enables the use of persistent URN-based links.
Other monographs produced at the University of Eastern Finland can also be deposited in eRepo for long-term preservation. Under the Act on the Provision of Digital Services, works published in eRepo must be technically accessible.
This year, a major step forward has been taken in the series: it is now possible to select a Creative Commons (CC) licence for dissertations. Read more in this blog post.
