Professor Jussi Pihlajamäki, Vice Rector for Research and Innovation at the University of Eastern Finland, has been appointed to the Executive Board of the Young European Research Universities Network (YERUN), which comprises 25 universities as its members. The new Executive Board members were announced at the YERUN General Assembly held in Toruń, Poland, last week.
YERUN’s primary objective is to promote the interests of young universities in Europe. YERUN engages in strategic advocacy and promotes collaboration between its member universities. The University of Eastern Finland has been a member of YERUN since 2015.
“Young universities with a strong commitment to research and innovation seek to enhance the impact of science quickly and flexibly, while placing particular emphasis on advancing the careers of early-career researchers in the EU. It is great to be part of this work with our partners,” Pihlajamäki says.
