Generation AI, a Finnish initiative for AI literacy in education and research has been awarded the 2026 UNESCO ICT in Education Prize.

Maryam Ghasemitarei, Atri Halder, Robert Leigh, Jenni Mölkänen and Hanna Ristolainen were appointed to three-year UEF Research Fellow positions.

The University of Eastern Finland is involved in two research consortia focusing on the changing Arctic region and public mental health.

The aim is to assess the opportunities to establish in eastern Finland a university group, in which UEF would be the majority owner of the universities of applied sciences.
