A case of COVID-19 has been discovered at Rantakylä Teacher Training School. Exposures have taken place early in the week and, according to a preliminary estimate, approximately 15 persons have been exposed to the coronavirus at Rantakylä Teacher Training School. Exposures have also happened in other schools in Joensuu.
Contacting those who have been exposed to the virus is still ongoing, but Siun sote will call all those exposed during Sunday, 15 November. Other pupils and staff members are not regarded as having been exposed to the coronavirus, since they have not had a close contact to the person infected. Contact teaching and guided teaching practice will continue normally. Teaching for pupils who have been exposed to the virus and ordered into quarantine will be organised as online teaching, among other things. The pupils and teachers concerned will be contacted separately.
