The European Commission announced the results of the call for proposals for Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree programmes on 12 July 2019. Finnish higher education institutions succeeded well in the call, as funding was granted to five Erasmus Mundus programmes that have a Finnish university participating in them either as the coordinator or as a partner:
- MSc European Forestry, University of Eastern Finland, coordinator (continued from 2016)
- Advanced Spectroscopy in Chemistry Master's Course, University of Helsinki, partner (continued from 2015)
- Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Biological and Chemical Engineering for a Sustainable Bioeconomy, Aalto University, partner (new programme)
- Re:Anima - European Joint Masters in Animation, Aalto University, partner (new programme)
- Computational Colour and Spectral Imaging, University of Eastern Finland, partner (new programme)
Finnish higher education institutions were also successful in the call for partnerships with Japan
The European Commission announced the results of the call for proposals for Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Partnerships With Japan on 31 July 2019, selecting three Master’s degree programmes from among the ten proposals submitted to receive funding. The selection was made in collaboration between the European Commission and the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. From Finland, funding was awarded to the Master of Science in Imaging and Light in Extended Reality programme, which is coordinated by the University of Eastern Finland.
