Doctoral hats in the professors' inaugural lectures.

UEF professors’ inaugural lectures on the Joensuu Campus on 27 May and on the Kuopio Campus on 28 May 2026

A total of 24 professors will give inaugural lectures on the key themes of their research.

The University of Eastern Finland’s newly appointed professors will give their traditional inaugural lectures on the Joensuu Campus on 27 May at 12:00–14:20 and on the Kuopio Campus on 28 May 2026 at 9:30–16:20. On the Joensuu Campus, lectures will be held in the Metria Building, room M100 (Yliopistokatu 7), and on the Kuopio Campus in the Canthia Building, room CA101 (Yliopistonrinne 3). The events are open to all.

This year, a total of 24 professors from the university’s four faculties will give a lecture, providing a popular overview of the key themes of their discipline and research. The lecture topics include, e.g., education, church history, European law, social and public policy, social work, forest policy, biomedical engineering, neurosurgery, cardiology and nursing science.
