UEF takes part in an unprecedented collaborative event for Public Involvement in European brain health research

This week in Luxembourg, at the first event of its kind, six European research projects join together in a series of consultations focusing on Public Involvement in dementia and brain health research, organised by Alzheimer Europe. One of them is the Multi-MeMo project coordinated by Associate Professor of Neuroepidemiology Alina Solomon and Research Director Eino Solje at UEF Brain Research Unit. The UEF Brain Research Unit is also collaborating with the EU-FINGERS project, which is based on the Finnish Geriatric Intervention Study to Prevent Cognitive Impairment and Disability, or FINGER, where the Unit plays a key role.

“Public Involvement activities provide significant benefits to our research projects, and our collaboration with Alzheimer Europe has made this possible on a much broader scale. The contribution of Advisory Boards ensures that the early detection and therapeutic strategies we develop reflect the concerns, needs and expectations of people with increased risk, or with cognitive impairment or dementia,” said Solomon, who is Principal Investigator for Multi-MeMo and Scientific Coordinator for FINGER.

“At the UEF Brain Research Unit, we are committed to pioneering patient-oriented implementations in our daily research activities. By fostering collaborations and engaging patients throughout the research process, we aim to bring about tangible benefits and innovations that directly enhance the lives of those impacted by neurological conditions,” Solje added.
