“We have invested in the development of new English-language Bachelor’s programmes in recent years, following our assessment of an increasing demand for them. These programmes now have a student intake of a total of 150 students. The significant growth in the number of applicants to these programmes shows that this investment has been a successful one,” says Academic Rector Tapio Määttä.
There were a total of 2,580 applicants for the Bachelor's programmes. The number of applicants increased by 85% compared to last year (1,395 applicants in 2023). The university offers the following Bachelor’s degree programmes in English: Lifelong Learning and Sustainable Development, Social Sciences, Sustainable Forest Bioeconomy, and Information Technology (Joensuu and Kuopio).
