University of Eastern Finland improved its ranking in five academic subjects in the 2026 GRAS ranking

The University of Eastern Finland was ranked among the top universities in the world in Law, placing in the 51–75 range.

ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects evaluates universities worldwide across academic subjects. In the 2026 edition, the University of Eastern Finland improved its ranking in five subjects.

The university improved its position in Law to the 51–75 range (previous position 101–150), in Dentistry & Oral Sciences to the range 101–150 (previously 151–200), in Earth Sciences to the range 301–400 (previously 401–500), in Clinical Medicine to the range 301–400 (401–500), and in Public Health to the range 201–300 (previously 301–400).

The ranking positions remained unchanged in Nursing (76–100), in Atmospheric Science (151–200), in Biological Sciences (401–500), in Human Biological Sciences (301–400), in Education (201–300), and in Ecology (101–150).

The university’s position declined in Agricultural Sciences (201–300) and in Pharmacy (301–400). The university was again listed in Hospitality & Tourism Management, placing in the 76–100 range.

ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) evaluates universities worldwide across 57 subjects in the fields of Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences and Social Sciences. Each year, GRAS presents around 20,000 subject units from approximately 2,000 universities across some 100 countries and regions.
