Content:
The course touches upon the following themes:
1. Career planning and career readiness
2. Self-knowledge and competence identity
3. Career opportunities and competence requirements for working life
4. Strengths in change and transitions
5. Decision-making and career planning
6. Assessment of their learning, and course feedback
Learning outcomes: After completing the course, students understand the significance of career planning in their lives and are able to assess their career readiness. Students obtain tools for identifying their values, competences, development needs and motivations and understand the impact they have on their career choices. Students learn to assess their ability to study. They also learn how to utilize their strengths in transitions and changes towards their career goals. They perceive changes in working life, map out different career opportunities and learn to activate their networks. During the course, students compile a concrete career plan. This will enhance their goal-orientation and decision-making.
The student will complete the course independently online within the given deadlines. No lectures or other meetings.
Modes of study: Students acquaint themselves with the material in the learning environment and complete the required assignments. Interaction with other students in the learning environment is essential to the way of learning in this course. To pass the course (PASS/FAIL), students must complete the tasks in the learning environment successfully.
Schedule: The online course learning environment is open from January 12 to March 23, 2026. Students can complete the assigments at their own pace during that time.
Learning materials: Material will be distributed during the course.
Further information: The course is offered in the autumn and spring semesters. The course is open to all undergraduate and graduate students, and the students with the continued right to study as well as open university students.
Study units cost 20 € / credit point. This price holds for the academic year 2025–2026.
