Content:
The course consists of the following employment themes
- Job seeking process and plan
- Job seeking channels and methods
- Opportunities in the labour market and marketing one’s competences and skills
- Job seeking skills
- The rights and obligations of jobseekers
Learning outcomes: Students learn the basics of job seeking and obtain practical tools for developing their employability skills. After completing the course, students are able to draw up a concrete job seeking plan and apply for jobs in a goal-oriented manner while using different job search methods. The course develops the following generic competences: Interaction, communication and recognizing and developing one’s own expertise.
The student will complete the course independently online within the given deadlines. No lectures or other meetings.
Modes of study: Students acquaint themselves with the material in the learning environment and complete the required assignments. Interaction with other students in the learning environment is essential to the way of learning in this course. To pass the course (PASS/FAIL), students must complete the tasks in the learning environment successfully.
Schedule: The online course learning environment is open from September 15 to November 24, 2025. Students can complete the assignments at their own pace during that time.
Learning materials: Material will be distributed during the course.
Further information: The course is offered in the autumn and spring semesters. The course is open to all undergraduate and graduate students and the students with the continued right to study as well as open university students. The course is best suited for students for whom the transition into working life and job seeking are topical. The self-study course in career planning 1 ECTS is recommendable as previous studies.
Study units cost 20 € / credit. This price holds for the academic year 2025–2026.
