Learning outcomes
Having completed the course, the student will:
- be able to understand global guidelines related to women’s health
- be able to identify research and its gaps in maternal & child health and women’s health
- be able to assess what is meant by female genital mutilation (FGM) and what are the related issues
- be able to evaluate maternal & child health care systems from global perspectives
- be able to evaluate how gender acts as a social determinant of health
Generic skills that will be gained during the course are international skills, critical thinking, interaction and communication, and expertise development, SDG 3&5
Prerequisites: Introduction to Global Health MOOC 3 ECTS

Log into Moodle environment as soon as the course starts. The course has scheduled assignments and must be completed within the given schedule.

Modes of study: lectures 7 h, exercises 20 h, and independent study 85 h; Studying online, independent exercises, and group work.

Evaluation criteria: PASS/FAIL; exercises are compulsory
The study fee is 20 euros per ECTS credit for individual study units, and 15 euros per credit for study modules. The study fee is paid at registration.
