Educational backround requirements
To verify eligibility, applicants must submit educational documents to the University of Eastern Finland in electronic format as attachments to the application. Instructions are provided on Studyinfo, and all documents must be uploaded by the specified deadline. Each document should be uploaded to the appropriate section of the application form. Paper copies are not required during the application period.
Make sure each document is uploaded to the correct section of the application form. University of Eastern Finland evaluates the authenticity of your educational certificates. Any malpractice (e.g. counterfeit documents or fraudulent information) will be reported to the authorities.
All master’s degree applicants are required to hold a bachelor’s degree that corresponds to at least three years of full-time academic studies from a higher education institution. The degree should 1) entitle the applicant to apply for master’s studies in the country where it was awarded 2) be in the same or a related field of study as the master's program the applicant is applying to. Please note: HND (Higher National Diploma) does not give eligibility for master's level programmes.
Educational documents
The following documents are required:
- Degree Certificate
- Transcript of Academic Records
If these documents are issued in a language other than English, Finnish, or Swedish, official translations into one of these languages are required. All translations must be completed by either the degree-awarding institution or an authorized translator. Each page of the translation must bear the translator’s stamp and/or signature. Official translations must be exact copies of the original documents. Self-translated documents will not be accepted.
Dual/ Joint degrees are programmes jointly offered by two or more universities, resulting in either a single diploma awarded collaboratively or separate diplomas given by each institution. Graduates who receive more than one diploma may choose which diploma(s) to submit for admission.
If the eligibility for a master’s degree is based on studies completed at multiple institutions - such as a Higher National Diploma (HND) combined with a one-year Bachelor’s degree - applicant must submit educational documents (transcripts and degree certificates) covering all of the studies.
Temporary degree certificates are also accepted. More information on required documents.
Students graduating after the application period
Applicants in the final semester of their higher degree studies are eligible to apply. If the degree is not yet completed during the application period, admission will be conditional.
