The 26th Koli Calling International Conference on Computing Education Research will take place on 5–8 November 2026 at Break Sokos Hotel Koli. The main conference programme spans three days (Thursday–Saturday), following the schedule available on the conference website.
This year, Koli Calling is bigger than ever, bringing together approximately 100 participants from 16 countries. Once again, the use of artificial intelligence in computing education is a prominent topic, as clearly reflected in the conference programme. Other themes include inclusion and student identity in computing education, as well as various teaching tools and learning environments.
The conference keynote will be delivered by Senior University Lecturer Arto Hellas from Aalto University. His talk, entitled "The Invisible Learner", will take place on Thursday, 5 November, at 14:00.
This year's conference chairs are Professor Rodrigo Duran (Federal Institute of Brasília, Brazil) and Assistant Professor Sonsoles López-Pernas (University of Eastern Finland). The practical arrangements of the conference are coordinated by the School of Computing at the University of Eastern Finland. The conference is supported by the University of Joensuu Foundation.
The main conference will be preceded by a Doctoral Consortium (3–4 November) and a hands-on workshop entitled "Process Analytics in Computing Education: A Hands-on TNA Workshop" (4 November), focusing on network analysis in computing education. Both events will take place at the Joensuu Science Park, near the University of Eastern Finland's Joensuu campus.
