Call for papers

We are pleased to invite scholars of the SOBIO network as well as all those engaged in social scientific environmental research to present your current papers at the annual SOBIO seminar. The 2025 seminar will take place on the 7 October in the Finnish Forest Museum Lusto in Punkaharju, an inspiring location that embodies the themes of nature, culture and heritage at the heart of our discussions.

We welcome a wide range of research contributions that explore the complex dynamics of human-nature relationships through cultural, historical, societal, and organizational lenses. Participants are encouraged to reflect on how these dimensions shape bioeconomy and biosocietal realities and how such insights can inform and guide sustainable transitions.

Registration and abstract submission: https://link.webropol.com/s/SOBIOdays2025registration. Further information from SOBIO network coordinators: Olga Sydd, [email protected] and Elli Arvola, [email protected].

We especially invite early-stage researcher to join the event. By fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration across disciplines, the SOBIO seminar offers a platform to receive constructive feedback on your current manuscript, including questions of theory-building grounded in empirical research and strengthening of the interdisciplinary dialogue.
