Master of Science in European Forestry programme coordinated by the School of Forest Sciences of the University of Eastern Finland has successfully completed the accreditation procedure following the European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes. The European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes, adopted by European Ministers responsible for higher education, has been developed to ease external quality assurance of these programmes: it defines standards that are based on the agreed tools of the EHEA (the European Higher Education Area), without applying additional national criteria. The accreditation procedure included a self-evaluation report followed by a site-visit of the expert panel and the experts’ final report. The procedure was conducted by AQAS (Agency for Quality Assurance).
MSc European Forestry programme is organised jointly by AgroParisTech (France), University of Lleida (Spain), University of Freiburg (Germany), Transilvania University of Braşov (Romania), University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (Austria). Programme includes also associated scientific and industrial partners from Europe and universities from Brazil, Canada and China as associated partner universities.
MSc European Forestry programme is one of the very few programmes coordinated by a Finnish university and now among one of the first Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) programmes which have been accredited after the European Approach for Quality Assurance and whose participating organisations have agreed to follow the quality methodology that has been approved at the European level.
