MSc Nicola A. Kokkonen's research shows that specialized peatland plant species are threatened by gradual drying and that the impact of climate change on peatlands may be accelerated by the stress of seasonal droughts.

Scientists have found naturally occurring pathogenic fungi infecting the Eucalyptus snout beetle in Eucalyptus forest plantations, and characterised them to develop a bio-pesticide for controlling the beetle.
