The Doctoral Programme in Drug Research (DPDR) at UEF will host, together with the Finnish Brain Tumour Research Association (FIBTRA), the 6th Annual Symposium on Brain Tumours in Kuopio on 31.8 –1.9.2023. The symposium focusing on Brain Tumour Microenvironment and Novel Drug Therapies to Treat Brain Tumours will be held in Scandic Kuopio and it is open to all scientists and clinicians who are interested in brain tumour research. There is a registration fee which includes the scientific programme as well as dinner and lunch. However, the event is free-of-charge for Ph.D. students enrolled in any doctoral programme at UEF. Note that there are only limited seats available!
The programme features several very interesting presentations by internationally recognized speakers, like Professor Maria G. Castro from the University of Michigan, USA, and Neurosurgeon Joonas Haapasalo from Tampere University, who are presenting their research results for the first time in Kuopio.
“Therefore, the symposium offers a great opportunity to discuss the topics with world-leading scientists,” says Associate Professor Kristiina Huttunen.
The scientific programme will also include oral and poster presentations by Ph.D. students. Overall, the target group of the symposium is not only Ph.D. students, but also senior scientists whose work is related to brain tumour diagnostics or treatment options either in academia or in the clinic.
