University of Eastern Finland to coordinate UniPID from 2026 onwards

Coordination of the Finnish University Partnership for International Development, UniPID, will move from the University of Helsinki to the University of Eastern Finland from the start of 2026.

The UniPID Board has decided to entrust the coordination of the UniPID network to the University of Eastern Finland from 2026 onwards. At UEF, UniPID will be hosted by the Department of Geographical and Historical Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies.

UniPID is a multidisciplinary and dynamic network, which gathers the university community from all over Finland to discuss and plan joint objectives to advance member universities’ global responsibility, cooperation with the Global South, and sustainable development.

UniPID’s activities will continue to be guided by the UniPID Board, which consists of representatives from all ten member universities and three observer members, each offering their unique contribution and perspective to UniPID’s work.
