Guest lecture by Researcher Moa Lidén, Uppsala University, Department of Law: Confirmation bias in criminal cases
Confirmation bias refers to the human tendency to search for information which supports preexisting beliefs. In a legal context, this may lead to severe consequences. Moa Lidén has studied the phenomenon in the decision-making among the police, prosecutors and judges. She has also reflected how mistakes could be prevented in the different stages of criminal procedure.
