Church history is the study of humanity and human experience.

The University of Eastern Finland opened fall 2025 an internal call for Proof of Concept (PoC) funding to accelerate the commercialization of ideas emerging from research.

For the first time in its history, the university surpassed the milestone of more than 200 doctoral degrees awarded.

Fiia Söderholm, Lejish Vettikkat Parameswaran, Milla Rosenlund and Eloi Schmauch received the Doctoral Researcher Awards. Professor Anne-Mari Souto was recognised with the Doctoral Supervisor Award.

Commitment to climate action, together with climate hope, can be a constructive way for individuals to channel their climate worry and climate anxiety.

The new unit will provide expert services to support the university’s research and strategic leadership.

Applications were received evenly across all of the university’s programmes. The majority of applicants, over 90 per cent, came from outside Europe.

A new grant scheme supports the recruitment of professors for the Joensuu Campus.

The aim is to offer campus environment as a venue for various cultural events and performances. This supports everyday well-being and provides the university community with an easily accessible peek into the diverse cultural offering of the cities

Nisha Rathnayaka came to Finland with a goal: to build a foundation in Finnish education before pursuing a PhD. Today, she is studying Lifelong Learning and Sustainable Development.
