Anni Lehmuskero, a newly appointed Professor of Practice in the field of photonics, seeks to update the university’s optical design education and facilitate university-business collaboration.

The award is presented in recognition of a notable Master’s thesis in the field of photonics, one that has made significant use of, or a significant contribution to, photonics.

The university plans to admit 120 students to the data engineering education expected to be launched on the Joensuu and Kuopio campuses in autumn 2026.
