The University of Eastern Finland presented Eveliina Ojala, Doctor of Theology, Maryam Samavaki, PhD, Timo Pekkala, MD, and Pasi Hirvonen, Doctor of Social Sciences, with the Young Researcher Award 2020.

The University of Eastern Finland’s Communicator of the Year Awards were announced in an award ceremony today. The selections were made by the university’s Communications and Media Relations.

Having a sense of meaning in life is known to boost our sense of well-being.  This is true especially for the elderly, since existential questions gain an increasingly important role with age.

Awardees have worked to dissolve inequalities in education, increase gender-neutral language in education and promote a sense of community.
