The University of Eastern Finland is looking to recruit a new Rector to lead the university’s activities for the five-year term of office beginning on 1 January 2025.

CERTAINTY: Cloud-aerosol interactions & their impacts in the earth system project, funded by the Horizon Europe program, aims to advance our comprehension of clouds and aerosols in the climate.

Scientists have found naturally occurring pathogenic fungi infecting the Eucalyptus snout beetle in Eucalyptus forest plantations, and characterised them to develop a bio-pesticide for controlling the beetle.

The awards ceremony was held on 20 December 2023 at Kuopio Campus.

The UEF research assessment in 2023 evaluated the performance of the university's research communities (RCs) in the years 2019–2022.

"Aerosol technology offers new opportunities for manufacturing materials and adapts to the principles of green chemistry," says Anna Lähde, Professor of Aerosol Technology.

The University of Eastern Finland participated in a study that assessed the prospects of the ‘Nature Restoration Law’. The article has been published in the Science Magazine in December 2023.

Awards were presented to Project Researcher Ville Tahvanainen, UNITE Geotrail research project team, anniversary online communication of the School of Pharmacy, and Director of the Department of Health and Social Management Elsa Paronen.

MSc Annastasia Shipepe's study explored how participant-oriented educational robotics workshops can provide an understanding of robotics in Namibia.

The University of Eastern Finland coordinates two funded Flagships, GeneCellNano and UNITE, and is a partner in the ACCC Flagship.
